CHRISTIAN EDUCATION PROGRAMS SUNDAY SCHOOL (10:30 a.m.)
Sunday School is offered for every age from 2-year olds through senior high school. We use Presbyterian Church (USA) curriculum for 2- and 3-year olds, second, fourth and fifth grades. 4-year olds are taught using Through the Bible in Felt curriculum; Kindergarten and first grade use worship center materials; third grade is Presbyterian Catechism/Bible Study; mid-high and senior high use varied curricula. CHILD CARE is available at 9:00 a.m. for all young children in the Pink Room (lower level). NURSERY for infants to 2-year olds is open from 8:45 to 11:45 and is staffed by loving, capable caregivers. The Senior Caregiver is licensed and CPR certified.
CHOIR Cherub Choir (K-2nd grades), Junior Choir (3rd-5th grades) and Youth Choir (mid-high) rehearse at 11:30 a.m. on Sundays (September - May).
AKALOO
:
Infants and preschool children will be housed in the nursery. Elementary children rotate through a classroom time, an activity time, and a craft time.
Mid-high kids meet in the Youth Room to hang out, play games, listen to music and study the Bible.
The Adult Study, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the Board Room, is designed to meet where you are on the learning curve. If you are new to studies about your faith, this study assumes no prior knowledge and will provide a gentle introduction to the Bible, and to what we believe as Presbyterians. If you have been in Bible study your whole life, this study will ask you to think more deeply about what any of it means to you-how the Bible and our daily lives intersect. The handbook provides an introduction-an invitation-into discussion that will enrich us all, grow our faith and our fellowship.
Our study is synchronized to the topics our children will be studying-so that as a family you will be able to talk together about what you are learning! Come and join the conversation. Our VBS program is usually held the second week of July, and is based on life in Jesus' time - Marketplace 29 A.D. We wear togas, live in tents, and are a part of a tribe of families. We learn skills often taught in 29 A.D., go to synagogue and learn valuable lessons from a "Rabbi," sing and dance, hear stories from storytellers by the lake, and have snacks that are appropriate for the time.
This is truly an experience neither you nor your child should miss! The program is geared to children ages 5 through 5th grade with a preschool program for children of parents assisting with the program. Our youth participate in dramas and assist in many areas.
