Our Deacons

Our Deacons

Charged with being the eyes and ears, the hands and feet, and the heart of our compassionate care of people in the Church and the Community, the 18 member Board, plus a Youth Deacon., watches over the work of our Stephen Ministers, the Parish Nursing Program, and adopts individual members in need of special Care.

Led by Lisa McMillen, the Board consists of 19 members who are charged with caring for the congregation by assisting with meals and transportation when necessary, visiting the sick and shut-ins, welcoming new visitors and encouraging new members, and keeping the lines of communication open to all of our members.

We are a Stephen Ministry Congregation

As you sit in Church on Sunday mornings or come to the Prayer Gatherings the first Thursday of each month, do you ever look at the Stephen Ministry Banner that hangs in the Sanctuary? Stephen MinistryThis banner is in place to increase the visibility of Stephen Ministry at Orchard Lake Community Church, Presbyterian (OLCC,P) to show everyone who enters our church building the importance of our Stephen Ministry and to increase interest in serving as a Stephen Minister. It is also a reminder to those in need of care that this Christ-centered caring ministry is available in our church and to affirm Stephen Leaders and Stephen Ministers. When you enter the sanctuary, take a couple minutes to look at the banner and see the words Christ Caring for People through People around the logo. OLCC,P is so fortunate to have this caring, confidential ministry.

In these difficult economic times here in Michigan, we encourage those of you who have lost your jobs to contact either of the Pastors or a Stephen Leader or Stephen Minister if you feel the need to just talk through your present situation. Yes, we do have a group for the unemployed, but it may help you to speak one-on-one and let your true feelings out. This is a stressful time for so many people and the need to express the anger, hurt and frustration with another caring person is vital to your health. We are here just let us know!

With over 44 trained Stephen Ministers, 16 of whom are currently actively serving our congregation. We believe that no one should have to carry life's burdens alone. We have a 'match made in Heaven' just for you. Call Pastor Robertson at the church office to ask about a Stephen Minister assignment, someone to walk beside you through your troubled time.
If you feel called to be a Stephen Minister, please call or email Pastor David Robertson at David@OLCCP.com, or Parish Nurse Chris Cosnowski at Chris@OLCCP.com.
